Kansas Ranks High for Computer and Internet Access
In Kansas, 85.7 percent of individuals three years and older live in a household with a computer. This percentage ranks Kansas eighth, along with Wyoming, for in-home computer access. In the United States, as a whole, 81.4 percent of individuals three years and older live in a household with a computer. Among the 50 states and the District of Columbia, New Hampshire ranks first, with 90.7 percent with in-home computer access; and New Mexico ranks last, with 71.1 percent.
Fewer individuals three years and older live in households with Internet access than have in-home computer access. The percentage of individuals in the United States, as a whole, who have Internet access is 75.9 percent. Kansas ranks seventh, with 81.4 percent. The range among the 50 states and the District of Columbia is between 86.2 percent in New Hampshire and 64.1 percent in New Mexico.
