In 2012, Kansas employment grew 1.4 percent and is predicted to grow another 1.8 percent in 2013. This will add nearly 24,000 jobs in Kansas this year. The production sector is expected to have the highest percentage increase in employment in 2013, with a 2.3 percent gain expected.

Revised 2013 Wichita's Economic Outlook

Wichita MSA employment is forecasted to grow in 2013, by nearly 4,200 jobs, for a growth rate of 1.5 percent over 2012. The service sector is expected to experience the largest growth, with an increase of nearly 2,600 jobs, or 2 percent.  These numbers reflect the CEDBR’s updated forecast for 2013.
