Kathy Sexton

Now in her eleventh year as City Manager of Derby, KS (population 23,633), Kathy Sexton works to accomplish the city’s mission to create vibrant neighborhoods, nurture a strong business community, and preserve beautiful green spaces. She previously served as Assistant County Manager of Sedgwick County and worked in the Governor’s budget office in Topeka. She earned a master’s of public administration and a bachelor’s of arts in English from Wichita State University. Kathy is active in the Rotary Club of Derby and International City/County Management Association. She serves on the board of directors of the Kansas Association of City/County Management. In 2008, Sexton received the Alumni Award for Outstanding Public Service from Wichita State University’s Hugo Wall School of Urban & Public Affairs.
