In May, the WSU Current Conditions Index rose for the fifth consecutive month, bringing the total growth rate for 2010 to 2.2 percent. The Index hasn’t had this many months of sustained growth since early 2006. When comparing May 2009 to May 2010, seasonally adjusted home sales increased 26.8 percent, the seasonally adjusted hotel occupancy rate in Wichita increased 2.1 percentage points, and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased 0.6 percentage points.
