In the four months ending in October, the WSU Current Conditions Index declined 2.7 percent. Home sales in July and August were unseasonably low. Fortunately, a 1.1 percent increase in seasonally adjusted nonfarm wage and salary employment from September to October, as well as a 0.5 percent decrease in the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, kept the October Index value from being lower than it was. This decline in the Index comes after six consecutive months of growth. View the full October Index report.
