workforce
Recent data from the Kansas Department of Labor indicate that workers with a GED or high school diploma were disproportionately affected by the recession in the second quarter of 2010. They represented 41 percent of the workers receiving benefits that quarter. The data also shows that the largest percentage of workers receiving benefits during second quarter were unemployed from production occupations, while the fewest workers were unemployed from life, physical and social science occupations.

A CEDBR report is available on this topic, including limitations of the data.
