The WSU Leading Economic Indicators Index increased 0.4 percent from March to April. That increase was primarily due to a 40 percent increase in the Kansas Leading Index, a monthly indicator available from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. From April 2012 to April 2013, the index increased 0.9 percent. Based on the available information for the leading indicators, the level of economic activity over the next six months is predicted to increase 0.26 percent.
