Skills Information TechnologyIn the modern business world, having a highly skilled workforce has become increasingly important to economic success.  The Center for Economic Development and Business Research (CEDBR), with funding from the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, recently conducted a study to estimate the skill levels of the employed workforce in the Wichita metropolitan statistical area (MSA) and other MSAs

This study focused on the information technology occupations in ten Midwestern MSAs.  The study revealed that Wichita ranks first in two categories, the “Communications and Media” and “Telecommunications” knowledge categories. The study also revealed that Wichita ranks fourth in the “Engineering and Technology” knowledge category.
