From April 2009 through March 2010, the average length of unemployment in Kansas was 19.3 weeks. However, there were nearly 12,300 individuals in the Wichita MSA who were unemployed for longer than that. This included claimants receiving regular unemployment benefits, emergency unemployment compensation, and extended benefits.
