Four industries accounted for 65 percent of unemployment insurance beneficiaries in the Wichita area in fourth quarter 2013: manufacturing, construction, administrative and support and waste management and remediation services, and retail trade. There was an increase of 677 unemployment beneficiaries in the construction industry from third quarter to fourth quarter 2013, the largest increase of any industry.
