Neal Allen is Chair and Associate Professor of Political Science at Wichita State University.  He writes and teaches about politics in the United States and United Kingdom.  He has published several articles and book chapters about Congress and the politics of race, and is working on the book Citizens Respond to Civil Rights:  Letters to Members of Congress about Civil Rights in the 1960s.  He teaches courses for Wichita State on American Politics, Kansas Politics, the Supreme Court, and Congress.

Neal is also a frequent commentator on Kansas and United States politics in the media.  He is a regular panelist on the PBS program Kansas Week, and has provided commentary to the CBS Evening News, the BBC, The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, KMUW and Pacifica Radio.  He has also published commentary in the Dallas Morning News, Kansas City Star, Wichita Eagle, Topeka Capitol-Journal, and Evansville (IN) Courier.
